Synonyms
Synonym groups tell the retriever that several words mean the same thing, so a question phrased one way still matches documents phrased another. Defined here, they apply organization-wide.
Open it from "My organization → Synonyms" in the sidebar.
Organization-wide versus per-assistant
The same synonym editor exists at two levels:
- This page — groups available to every AI assistant in the organization, maintained in one place.
- An assistant's Retriever settings — groups that apply to that assistant only.

Only an organization admin can edit this list. Members see the groups but cannot change them, and when no group exists yet the page appears empty to them.
Working with synonym groups
The editor is the same one described under Chat → Synonyms — in short:
- Add a group with "+ Add synonym group". A new group can only be started once the previous one holds at least one word.
- Type a word and press Enter, or use the "+" button, to add it to the current group.
- Remove a group with its trash icon.
- Use Bulk Upload to import a prepared list instead of typing each group.
Warning
Synonyms take effect on retrieval, so a change is reflected on the next question — there is no need to reindex your data.
