Assistant Settings
This page allows you to configure a specific assistant within the QAnswer platform. You can set the assistant's basic information, description, and data storage preferences.
Accessing the Assistant
Navigate to your assistant (e.g., EDCC) from the top navigation bar.
Fields
Name
- Purpose: Identifies your assistant within the platform.
- Field Type: Text input
- Example:
EDCC Bot
Description
- Purpose: Add a description of your assistant to help other users understand its function.
- Field Type: Multiline text area
- Example: This assistant handles questions related to the European Direct Contact Centre.
Advanced Settings
Click on "Advanced Settings" to reveal additional configuration options.
Storage Privacy
Select how data should be stored and handled by the assistant:

Store all
All conversation data is stored in full. Logs from all users are visible to all users. -
Discard all
No data is stored. Conversation logs are not recorded or shown. -
Stored anonymized
Conversation data is stored, but all identifying information is removed. Logs are visible to all users in anonymized form. -
Privately stored
Each user can view only their own conversation logs. Other users’ logs are not accessible.
Choosing the appropriate storage option is essential for compliance with GDPR and internal data policies.
Tips
- Use a meaningful name and description to make it easier for collaborators to identify the assistant.
- Adjust the storage settings according to the sensitivity of the data being handled.
- You can always return to this screen to update settings later.
